Today

Experience the poetry of former U.S. poet laureate Ted Kooser, who's reading at KU's new, castle-like Oread Hotel tonight at 7.

Tuesday
Check out a new bar. Happy hour at Retro Downtown Drinks and Dancing runs from 3 to 7 p.m.

Wednesday
Make it a movie night. The Kansas City Film Fest kicks off at 7 p.m. at the AMC Main Street theater.

Thursday
Take in a little fashion, and help out Haiti. La Femme, a fashion show at the Madrid Theatre features lingerie by Birdies Panties and benefits Haitian relief efforts of Heart to Heart International.
