Man dead after altercation in the 8800 block of Evanston Way

Kansas City police are investigating a homicide in the 8800 block of Evanston Way.

Officers were called to a disturbance around 8:12 p.m. Tuesday, and located a black man believed to be about 60 years old with no signs of life in his driveway. The man was pronounced dead a short time later.

Witnesses told police that the victim was in a physical altercation with an unknown black man before collapsing. The other man fled northbound in an unknown vehicle.

The man's cause of death has not been released.
