Drunkenly dropping cotton balls around the Black Culture Center at the University of Missouri apparently isn't a hate crime. It's just littering.
Mizzou students Sean Fitzgerald and Zachary Tucker are now accused litterbugs. Our friends at the Riverfront Times report that prosecutors charged the duo with littering because they didn't believe they could convince a jury that they intended to commit a hate crime.

March for dropping cotton balls around the Gaines/Oldham Black Culture
Center along with more douche baggery (raising a pirate flag outside of the school's ROTC building and climbing on top of a tiger statue). The university suspended them.

I see. So whatever someone did to whomever, lets say, however many years ago, by someone I nor you never knew, entitles everyone of a certain race, to more-than-equal rights? I don't get it. By you stating that everything is still not even tells me that you won't forgive the past; so what is it that will pacify you all, once and for all?
Don't tell me everything is not quite even. Too many jobs have been filled/taken due to an affirmative action law. What happened to 'best man wins'? Why is it that one's merit isn't enough qualify him? And how long before the slavery issue is not a concern, seeing how 99% of us are not immediately tied to it?
@Aaron: The Black Culture Center isn't about segregation for "them" it is a place that was designed for African American students (but is accessible by ALL students) to learn more about their history which is purposely left out of most of history's text books. It kills me when white ppl try to use the reverse racism card.... IT DOESN'T WORK LIKE THAT. African American students are entitled to have a Black Culture Center, especially at a school that went over 100 years denying them access for education. Contrary to what many white people think, the playing field is NOT EVEN. Not even you can believe that African Americans can go through 400 years of slavery, try to live and compete in a workforce and socioeconomic state that is designed AGAINST minorities, still battle hatred and ignorance on a daily basis because of the color of their skin, and now all the sudden "everything's even, no harm, no foul." Do everyone a favor and use your brain before you speak.... it's really not that hard!
Since when is it a crime for hurting someones feelings? Come on, they have their own club. At least they have a spot where they can gather and SEGREGATE themselves from the whites. If that isn't hypocrisy I don't know what is.
You say there is a library there? Wow, why not make everyone EQUAL then, and open it up to the civil rights crazies, too? You act as if a library is for whites only. Not so. The ACLU would be all over that one too.
Oh Aaron. First of all, there is a Western European Culture Center. It's called the library.
Second, where does the story mention the ACLU? I actually sort of imagine that the ACLU would feel a little vexed about the whole thing, since charging someone with a crime for expressing their dumbass racism could be construed as a violation of free speech rights.
Third, dropped crackers make me cry. Every single time.
