Kansas City police say 20-year-old Michael Wilson was the man shot and killed at an apartment at 400 East Armour Boulevard on
Sunday.
Police found a man suffering from a gunshot
wound in the apartment building's lobby. The man, described as in his
twenties, told police that Wilson had been shot in the doorway of
his second floor apartment.
Police are still investigating the circumstances of Wilson's death, although preliminary reports indicated that the man killed, Wilson, was trying to break into an apartment.
Wilson's 20th birthday came two days before his death. His Facebook page is a mix of birthday wishes and tributes.
Wilson, who called himself "Dakoolbrutha" on Facebook wrote in the "about me" section:
Im a young black brotha who works hard and try 2 keep myWilson wrote on April 8:head above tha water. . .I know life has ups and downs but by tha end
of the day I have accomplish something out of myself. . . Im a mellow
kool brotha that wont stay n nobody's way.
I had long thought about my life and I came to aconclusion: Its really time to get business done...Sometimes I think I
failed at times and when I to tell my niggz about my
situation...Conclusion: They dont really know because they not in your
situation and Im not in theirs...No matter how many people said they "I
unde...rstand homie" but......Im misunderstood wit myself.
Wilson let his friends know what type of woman he was looking for in his final Facebook post:

i remembere wen me and mike first met. i was skippin class and he came up to me nd was like "aint yu so and so brotha?" so as he was talkin ta me he fially asked y wasnt i n class, so i told him. He basically what he told me was that if yu wanna b a bum or nt have nothn walkin the streets and not graduate from high school, then keep skipping but if yu wanna b somebody and yu wanna go somewhere it starts in the classroom.

Mike was coolest dude u will ever meet. It never mattered how mad i was he could always make me laugh wit one of his e-40 voices, or just walking up to me dancing. He was easy to talk to and always had a answer for any question. When hewould see my babys father on the bus or at the library he would tell him "you better take care of my little sister or else" lol. My most foundest memories of him are thru his art and poems. He was so good at both. But my prays go out his family, friends. He is loved and missed!
Mike was a student in on of my classes he was very funny and always kept his sence of humour when times were rough. He was one of my favourite students and will be missed very much.
Mike was a good person. Very mannerable and not at all who is described in this article. It is hard to fathom him in this role as he was just the opposite. I don't know what to say about this nice young man who never bothered anyone being categorized this way. I had him multiple years in my classes and he did not have a mean bone in his body, playful, jokes, and thoughtful, yes, mean, absolutely not. My prayers go out to his family. I will certainly miss him!
DIs is a bullshit story because the news dont kno what they talkin about. First they said Mike was trying to rob the man then the next time it came on they said the man was trying to rob Mike for money and drugs now its back to Mike was trying to rob the dude.. They need to get the story straight cus Mike didnt try to rob that man, thats not even who or how Mike is!!!!! RIP MIKE luv ya cuzn in law
