1. Celebrate the planet. Earth Day is one day past, but the Power & Light District nods to environmentalism today with Green the Core, a free, lunchtime festival with gifts for the first 500 guests.

2. Grease your hair -- for Gear Grinder, a rockabilly music and car show at Knuckleheads today and Saturday.

3. Drink up. Parkville hosts its 7th Annual Microbrew Fest from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at English Landing Park.

4. Get Tech N9ne's autograph. He'll be at the Family Health Day happening Saturday at Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center.

5. Eat local. More than 40 Kansas City restaurants will serve samples on Sunday during Urban Picnic 2010 at Nara.

It was amazing, with thousand's of people that showed up. Even with that kind of impact, for a worldwide cause, and even right next to plaza, it still wasn't worthy enough to be mentioned in your "things to do". I have no doubt it escaped your attention, but what hasn't escaped my attention, though, is that all your "things to do" are for businesses. Ah well, it was a nice try though.

Lots of cool stuff happens in Kansas City every weekend. It's impossible to list everything in this little round-up. For more weekend events, see www.pitch.com/calendar, which features the blurb we ran online AND in print this week about the AIDS Walk (http://www.pitch.com/events/ai... We have also covered many of the associated events leading up to the AIDS Walk, so it has hardly escaped our attention.
