Anti-texting-while-driving lawmakers have a new ally: Kansas State University grad student Brian Bookwalter.
Bookwalter created the artwork on the right as part of his graduate thesis project. He's clearly no fan of texting while driving, although he cops to doing it himself in this video.
Kansas Transportation Secretary Deb Miller discovered
Bookwalter's posters on display at the William T. Kemper Foundation Art
Gallery while at a conference at K-State.
want an outright ban on texting while driving.
The posters are now on display at the Kansas Capitol building until theLawmakers
end of the special session. Kansas state Sen. Tim Owens and Rep. Gary
Hayzlett are still pushing a total ban on texting while driving and
may get something worked out before the end of this legislative
session.
Bookwalter will be cashing a $3,000 check from AAA ($2,000) and the
federal government ($1,000 from federal funds for traffic safety).
Look for the images to show up at this year's Kansas State Fair.

I also support this. Can't wait until the day when cell phones are banned in cars. Not all the people who talk on their cell phones are bad drivers, but all bad drivers talk/text on their cell phones.
So, if you work for those who will get funds from the revenue generation banning texting will surely create... you get a percentage of their fundraising. Good to know the federal government is paying people not to use personal responsibility.
