| Memorabilia of Dennis Rader, aka BTK, is considered rare. |
Most of what's being sold seems to be collected from Rader's 2005 stay in the Sedgwick County jail. More recent items that have made their way into collectors' hands include Rader's writings, like his thoughts on the 2009 election of Barack Obama.
Prison officials say Rader isn't the one profiting. In almost all cases, he's not even aware that anyone is selling an envelope he may have haphazardly scribbled on during his trial. But since there's relatively few pieces of "authentic" BTK merchandise, it's good money for anyone who wants to serve the online marketplace of homicide enthusiasts. Yes, there are people in this world who covet an autographed Charles Manson arrest warrant the same way the rest of us might want a baseball signed by Babe Ruth.
