The Sunday New York Times profiled the women of the Westside Family Church's Victory Over Porn Addiction support group.
The thought of women being into porn shouldn't be surprising. But the Lenexa megachurch appears to be a a rarity.
The Times notes that the group diverges "from secular sexual
theory by treating masturbation and arousal as sins
rather than elements of healthy sexuality. Emphasis is on recovering
'sexual purity,' in which thoughts of sex outside marriage are illicit."
The group's latest graduating class -- three members strong -- included Kelsie,
a 17-year-old girl who said she was taught "secular views about
masturbation, but that Ms. Renaud's way made more sense."
"You have to take into consideration what's best for the oneyou're going to be with. Say someday I'm married and my husband can't
please me as much as I please myself. That'd be terrible."
Terrible, indeed. But if you don't know how to please
love yourself, how can anyone please love you?

Churches who are involved in helping porn addict women are indeed admirable. Women who are porn addicts are now given a chance in their life to recover from an unlikely addiction. That is something worth praising for.
"he is going to have an orgasm 99.9 percent of the time and you are going to have an orgasm 0.1 percent of the time."
Wow... I'm sorry your sex life is so awful.
And, please, for the love of Pete(r), please find some better object of lust/fantasy than Burt Reynolds. Though it successfully killed any sexual thoughts I might have been having. Maybe the Church Ladies hold the "addict's" eyelids open and force them to look at Burt.
Wow, where do I begin? Kelsie, if you're with a man who can't please you as much as you please yourself, you're probably in the majority, and you may as well learn how to please yourself now and supplement your married sex life with it or accept that (without clitoral stimulation) he is going to have an orgasm 99.9 percent of the time and you are going to have an orgasm 0.1 percent of the time. Even assuming he's willing to put your needs ahead of his, you could save a lot of fumbling by already knowing what makes you feel good. Don't rely solely on somebody else to give you an orgasm, or you may (will) be waiting a long time! This is more about denying women sexual autonomy through masturbation and reinforcing the idea that women who enjoy orgasms are sinful. This might lead to women learning to respect their sexuality, using birth control without shame and having sex for pleasure instead of procreation. GASP!
