Johnson County District Attorney Steve Howe won't charge a
Prairie Village police officer who shot and killed Susan
L. Stuckey, a suicidal woman who had barricaded herself in her apartment at 93rd Terrace and Mission
Road and made threats on March 31.
Prosecutors say Stuckey, 47, did more than threaten officers. KSHB Channel 41 reports that Stuckey had allegedly threatened to burn down the apartment building. They claim she attacked an officer with a bat when police busted through her barricaded door. Officers tried to tase Stuckey, but her clothing deflected the barbs. Then Stuckey allegedly picked up a butcher knife, refused to drop it and attempted to throw it. An officer shot and killed her.
Police had been fielding 911 calls from Stuckey for several weeks, including receiving calls the day before the shooting.
Howe reportedly said Stuckey had drugs and alcohol in her system but
wouldn't explain more.
A Facebook group called Justice
For Susan Stuckey has been started. The site says:
IStuckey'sam a Prairie Village, Kansas resident and I am horrified that Susan
Stuckey lost her life in this violent way. Please help keep this
incident in the public eye. Let our District Attorney know that we want
an independent investigation (outside of the police department) and
charges filed.

Iam the mother of Susan Leslie Stuckey.
Loosing my daughter in this horrific way has totally defestated my life.
My daughter was severly depresed at the time of the unnecessary fatal shooting.
Did the PV police department have access to pepper spray? YES they did, but that ONE police officer, with full body armor, chose to use a lethal way instead. He also disarmed her twice, first by taking her baseball bat and broomstick away from her. So why then did he have to kill her ?? She was not a criminal or on drugs as the DA would have people to believe I have the coroners report and have talked to him. NO ILIGAL DRUGS were in her system. Just another way to whitewash the police and make my daughter look bad.
I want to thank Sara Jane Crane for Justice for Susan Leslie Stuckey.
I have pictures of my Susan that I would be glad to share with you. Please contact me any time. I have the strenght and courage now to really fight the fight.
Thanks again Sara & everyone involved for Justice for Susan L. Stuckey
My best to you,

I am the person that had the face book page removed. You used my business photo with your face book page and I am NOT the Susan Stuckey that lost her life. You should confirm your information before posting someones photo. It has created total havoc with my family and business.
It is very sad that Susan L. Stuckey lost her life. May God be with her.
Thank you.

I am the person who started the "Justice for Susan Stuckey" facebook page. Someone has taken the page off of Facebook. Clearly, it was not me and I was the only admin for that page.
Did the Johnson County DA Steve Howe wield some power with Facebook and had it taken down?
Was it the Prairie Village police?
