If passed, Missouri will become the second state in the country to ban K2, following Kansas' lead. Of course, Kansas made the ban the first act of their legislative session (the February 18 Pitch feature, "Fake Reefer Madness," shows how the Sunflower State ignored actual science and medical research in favor of anonymous YouTube user commentary).
In Missouri proponents of the ban have chosen to downplay K2's similarity to marijuana, instead insisting that the drug should be treated like meth, as Sen. Kurt Schaefer did following the vote. Interesting public relations choice.
It's pretty much a given that the ban will pass relatively soon, but with alternatives like K3 already hitting stores and using different chemical compounds than those active in K2, it's difficult to say whether lawmakers will end up revisiting this issue in 2011.

Our penal system needs a major overhaul as it is and these petty drug laws aren't helping matters. The authorities will never be able to keep up with k2 incense and the like as it is ever-changing. Loads of places have k2 herb products that aren't forbidden under any current bans. It is bonkers the money and effort they are putting into these bans when apparently people can still legally buy k2 smoke if they want to!

i agree about the high its nothing like no drug its a lil more powerfull weed high that doesnt last that long so we already know that it isnt in ur system for to long so and if they would think about this being legal then they would lose half af the damn drug dealers in the US dummys gosh! Hello wake up an smell the coffee!!! oh wait they can make a 5 hour energy shot legal but not a 30min high legal wow wait i live in methouri
Please go to the Govener and tell him what you think about this BS K2 should stay Legal......
well, i live in missouri, and i smoke K2 because i work in a hospital and need to pass a drug test if need be. Whoever said K2 was more akin to meth than pot is a loon! They have absolutely no similarities whatsoever. Trust me, I know! I was a meth addict for over 4 years. K2 mimmicks the high that pot gives you, not the high that you get from meth.
do they have a means of testing for K2?
I mean what if you just have herbal incense or like Jack said, oregano? How does the cop know what you have?
this is ridiculous!! Now in this country you can go to jail for having a bag of oregano if an idiot cop thinks that it is looking like fake pot!!! What are these dumb-ass law makers thinking???
To the 1st comment (Abe), that's a completely ignorant statement. Your children are never 100% safe.
I've never understood why cigarettes are ok to smoke, while weed and synthetic weed is so overly scrutinized. Cigarettes can be just as addictive as hard drugs. I think if government is going to ban weed, cigarettes are the next obvious choice... and we all know that'll likely never happen. What a complete waste of taxpayers' dollars and time.
