The University of Kansas Medical
Center has a message for animal rights activists: Stay away!
KU Med has lawyered up in an attempt to keep animal rights activists off hospital property. The members of Bite Club KC have posted a letter from attorney Anthony F. Rupp of Polsinelli Shughart on its Web site warning Lynn J. Souther to keep away or face criminal trespassing charges.
The letter, dated April 29, stems from Souther handing out "Wanted" posters targeting two KU researchers.
The letter reads:
The Hospital takes any potential threatA similar warning has been issued to animal rights activist Jasonto public safety or disruption to patient care services seriously. We
are unaware of any legitimate reason for you to be on hospital or campus
property. Therefore, you are hereby notified that your presence on any
property associated with the Hospital is strictly prohibited.
Miller, who was reprimanded by security guards for handing out
the fliers. KU Med's vice chancellor later gave Miller the
same ultimatum.
Miller drew local attention for his campaign to stop the deer hunt in Shawnee Mission Park. His
latest campaign has been against KU Med's use of primates in clinical
research. Aside from passing out fliers, Miller FedEx'ed
a pig's head to Barbara
Atkinson, executive vice chancellor of KU Med. Miller also
offered $35,000 to anyone who can free the primates or end the research.
Miller added a disclaimer: He "is not endorsing, condoning, promoting,
or encouraging the
commission of illegal or violent acts to achieve the goals necessary to
earn this reward."

Miller is dumb. He should have sent the head without telling everyone in the world that he was going to do it and post pics of him and the head and the letter. The guy has already been picked up and questioned by the FBI for comments made on a blog. He is a hypocrit with too much emotion and is going to get arrested without making a damn bit of difference for his cause.
Miller's people aren't able to learn from his mistakes? That lady thought she was invisible and wouldn't get caught on surveillance camera? lol
They still don't understand or respect that it's private property and KU has the absolute right to tell them to piss off?
Wait, wait for it............the argument will be that KU doesn't care about animals, so they don't have to care about the law.
The other spin...........KU didn't tell anyone to shut up, they just won't allow leafleting and protesting on their property.
Stand across the street on a public sidewalk. Here's a fucking tissue ~
Didn't Miller get in any trouble for (allegedly) sending the pig head? Guess not since there's no whine about it. Mebbe he really didn't send it. ;)
