Live, local pro wrestling is coming back to Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kansas, on June 5.
Metro Pro Wrestling has scheduled a Saturday night television taping at the historic arena where Missouri native Harley Race won his first NWA World Heavyweight Championship from Dory Funk Jr. in March 1973. It's also where "Nature Boy" Ric Flair won his first NWA World Championship from "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes.
Metro Pro Wrestling's shows will start airing in mid-June on Metro Sports in high definition as well as other stations.
Headlining the first card will be former ECW World Champion Tommy
Dreamer. "The Innovator of Violence" is jacked to "make history."
Metro Pro promises:
Our roster will consist of superstars who are household names who have appeared with WWE, ECW and TNA Wrestling right next to the superstars that will become names in your household!
Also on the card will be former WWE World Tag Team Champion Trevor
Murdoch.
Tickets are on sale now through Ticketmaster ($30-10).
Showing 1-5 of 5
Memorial Hall is also where Ric Flair LOST the NWA World Title to Bruiser Brody, at least until former St. Joe Sheriff and "Senior Referee" Sonny Myers trotted his fat ass out of the back and reversed the decision of ring referee Tom Andrews. (this was after countless "the decision of the ring referee is final" screwjobs when a babyface got the shaft)
It was like, "This match is FIXED, goddamnit, and it's going to STAY fixed regardless of what happens in the ring." Hopefully Metro Pro will be a little blatant about it.
