I love meat. Really love meat. I would eat meat 5 times a day if my cholesterol would stay under 200.
That said, ANYONE that mistreats an animal in any way is a savage. Period.

been vegetarian my whole life and am sick of watching people getting sick the the tainted meet our society gives us. i used to get sick maybe three times a year, since going vegan that number has gone down. if we are arguing that meat makes us smarter then we must first argue which meat we are referring to - the mass produced meat of a Cow or Sow forced to live an unpleasant life before being slaughtered before their prime and packaged or the organic meat of a Cow or Sow that has been given the option to run free in a paddock and eat real grass who is then slaughtered after their prime?
meat WAS the soul reason our species developed but had we been privy to the iron found in vegetation and nutrients in grains it would have had the same outcome. you say what you say as though you have keen skill in the close combat killing of a beast... do you?
Joe, meat is not essential for the human body, I have been vegan for 3 years now, there are other foods out there that provide the same nutrients and proteins. Don't believe me look it up, also there are even iron pills and others. so don't tell people it is essential. because it's not. Do not be ignorant. Yes some people do like to eat meat. But some people do not. Be respectful.

I'm upset. I can't see a single expiration label or food content listing. How do I know they aren't packed full of BHTA or, God forbid, MSG and HFCS? There aren't even any cooking instructions or country of origin. My gosh, this is a travesty to offer food like this in public that could be adulterated...oh, did I mean to use that word here?
They should go to work at some strip club. Then they could at least make some money for their cause.

And Petas celebrity backers don't hold any weight when they talk and are very ignorant people. Unlike CHARELTON HESTON when he headed up the NRA. There have been studys that show that being a vegetarian or vegan decrease longevity of life.Now if they (the v people) want shorter unhealthier (and unnatural) lives I say go for it, but who am I to say its there lives go for it.
One problem with the protest-they forgot to seal the packages. If we're not supposed to eat animals why are they made out of meat? deport all liberals!

Seriously folks, PETA is a joke. It's always been a joke and will always remain a joke. They want to outlaw sport fishing and hunting and eating meat. They want to outlaw wearing furs or animal skins. Nothing says style like a nice calfskin leather coat with mink collar.
I am NOT against eating meat...PETA has always been "over the top" with their protest methods. HOWEVER, one thing we should think about,is to be "humane" in our treatment to these animals before they are slaughtered. Saw some video a while back of people torturing the animals before they were killed...that's just wrong, no matter what your views are.

TO anyone who thinks we are somehow superior to animals: you are an animal. For every intelligent action we do there is the exact opposite which completely reveals our stupidity. Think you should be so self-righteous? Did you harness the electricity you are using? What have you contributed? Without these animals, what do you have? PETA's message might not mean anything to you, but you could at least give your fellow animal some respect before you greedily consume them.
Child hunger? Famine? Pffftt... look at the causes. You'll usually see how globalization connects your world and theirs. Don't ignore that evidence either.

A few notes:
I'm vegan and have been for 5 years. I get all the aminos, B vitamins and everything else I need from a well-balanced diet. What I take from this PETA campaign is more about viewing meat as a commodity as opposed to seeing it as the animal it actually is. I truly believe that if people had to slaughter and dismember their own dinner, fewer people would eat meat. Finding it packaged (like these ladies) in the grocery store removes the consumer from the dirty work.
That said, I really disagree with PETA's agenda and their tactics. They're the reason people think all vegans are crazy and militant. Its not up to me to decide what other people eat. And if I want them to respect my food choices, I have to respect theirs. Just as I wouldnt want a "pro meat" agenda being shoved in my face, I dont want an "anti meat" agenda shoved in anyone else's face.
why is there noone dressed as lettuce in plastic wrap or grapes in ziplock bag or maybe carrots in a bag? they where once alive also.
Although I find their tactic could use some revision, PETA is really trying to address the manner in which we get our meat and the treatment of these consumable animals. Which of course is mass production, but is it necessary to treat these animals that will soon feed a populace with great disrespect? Such as leaving chickens in complete darkness their entire life, or throwing baby pigs off truck at the packing plant still alive. How about the fact that McDonald's boils their poultry alive before they pluck and process it. These are the things PETA is protesting, they do not expect all of America to stop eating meat, but to just act more "Ethical". As for the adoptable animals that are euthanized by PETA, do some research and you will find that these are animals that had serious medical ailments or were beyond a quality of life. Any animal that comes to PETA that is adoptable is place at the Norfolk no-kill shelter. So try and do simple research before you make comments that you are unsure of.

WOW! So much controversy over PETA. Whether you support it or are against it, it still grabs your attention and that's all PETA really wants. The more attention they are getting, the better. Some people might get their message and beleive the same things they do (whatever that may be). Personally, I am a meat and potatoes girl and don't really see the point to this protest. It looks pretty dumb to me to be honest. I don't think it did anything one way or the other to get their point across.
I am eating a steak tonight and every night this week for PETA animals eat animals and people are animals i will eat meat it's DELICIOUS. I get the no fur-- love khloe k I would also rather go naked than wear fur but people should shut the hell up about other peoples diets unless they are paying you and you are their DOCTOR. I adopted a kitten 6 months ago and she is still alive so I guess that means I'm better than you PETA bc I haven't murdered her. Or eaten her. You're welcome PETA.

Hey I'd eat that meat. Anyways, PETA can suck my sausage. I mean really we are omnivores, we are on top of the food chain for darwins sake! I respect your belief in eating veggies but I just have to have a nice juicy steak. I love animals as much as the next guy but these animals die in vein if you don't.

I'm glad these are show what good meat looks like in the store. Next time take some old woman in a sun tan and say its smoked meat. Or just stay home and eat some beans, and rice. Your freedom of protest does not extend to my freedom to eat as I choose. Is it not a matter of level of consciences are not plants alive, where are the plant people.
