  • Hot wings from the Peanut announced on Facebook its plan to run for mayor of Kansas City.

Kansas City Mayor Mark Funkhouser says he's running for re-election, and challengers are already lining up.

From Mike Burke and his sinking ship billboards to Sly James and his fat campaign stash to Jim Rowland and his pinstriped suit, checkered shirt combo, there is no shortage of folks wanting to dethrone the Funk.

But there's one candidate that might just be able to unite a divided city: hot wings from the Peanut.

The meatiest wings in town announced

today on Facebook that they are running for mayor.

Blorph! The KC general mayoral election is on March 22,

2011. But it's never too early to begin the campaign, especially when it

involves obscenely scrumptious hot wings slathered with zesty,

molten-butter-like sauce and patriotic American values! Peanut Hot Wings

for Mayor: Just. Delicious.

Hot wings' platform is "to run the turkeys out of office

and ring in a bold new era of

transparency, accountability and abnormally large and delicious hot

wings for all Kansas Citians!"

I'll vote for deliciousness any

day.
