If they find an unlicensed pet, the initial fine is $75 with a warning to get the animal on the rolls. But if you don't get it right with the city, there's also a chance that the pet could be seized. That's the last thing you want, considering how packed KC's kennels get and the number of animals that end up getting euthanized.

Extremely helpful info here. BTW, I believe I read a quite similar article on another blog these days, truly i'm pretty sure. I 'll check it out and let you know, maybe they copied your content, who knows.
So, by licensing our animals in the first place, we are setting ourselves up to be harassed? And, if perhaps, in this economy, we are taking good care of our pet(s), but just can't afford to have them licensed, the City/Animal Control is going to take them away so they can kill them? What is happening to us? This is insane!
So licensing your pets invites harassment. Have these animal control employees been pushing their way into homes, asking to come inside?
The whole thing is sick and reminiscent of the bad old days of the 19th century when SPCA people would snatch dogs out of people's arms to take them to be killed. The truth is that they never stopped doing this.
Isn't that great. If you are not licensed, they will seize your pet and probably kill it. Is that what Animal Control is all about? Is that really how Animal Control is supposed to operate?
Really? Pay city officials for this? FUCK! Am I the only one that thinks this is a gross misuse of tax dollars?
