Earlier this week, El Forastero Motorcycle Club members Eric G. "Little Eric" Burkitt and Robert E. Stewart were sentenced to five years in federal prison without parole for conspiracy to distribute meth to fellow bikers between January
1, 2002, and July 31, 2007.
Burkitt and Stewart pleaded guilty in November, admitting as El Forastero members they paid dues to
the club -- money they knew could be used to buy meth, cocaine and
marijuana for parties called
"runs." El Forastero members were required to go on
three runs a year (although they could go on more) in which the pooled
money to pay for a party site, food, drinks, entertainment, and, yes, drugs.
El Forasteros are hardcore outlaw bikers known as 1
percenters. In 2005, the club considered Burkitt an up-and-coming
prospect ("Live Free
& Die"). At the time, a motorcycle crash into the back of a fire
engine nearly kept Burkitt from getting his patch and becoming a full
member of the group.
At the time, one of the club's members
described Burkitt as timid around women.
"We're like, 'Man, quit being so fucking quiet. You want to know why you
never get laid, motherfucker? Because you act too goddamned nice to
these girls. You can't act like that, man. You've got to be a fucking
dickhead. If you want to get some pussy, you can't act like some shy
boy. Nice guys finish last. You've got to tell them how much of a slut
they are and how fucking much of a pimp you are. And then they'll
fucking want to fuck you.' He's starting to catch on."
In March 2009, Jackson County prosecutors charged Burkitt with
forcible rape, two counts of forcible sodomy, two
counts of assault, and sexual misconduct.
A plea hearing is scheduled for 2 p.m. May 25.
