Peculiar Jesse's quest for love ended last night on The Bachelorette, leaving him a victim of reality TV show scheming and manipulation.

Before being let loose to resume his life as a general contractor in Peculiar, Jesse and the 10 remaining bachelors were whisked away to NYC to "audition" for a part in The Lion King on Broadway.

"I love musicals and I love these guys and I can't wait to see them together!" Ali gushed.

Dressed in spandex shorts and V-neck T-shirts, the bachelors went

through a short dance routine and had to sing, "Can

You Feel the Love Tonight."

"Ima rock this thang!" Jesse exclaimed.

" This Broadway stage is mine!"

And he did. Peculiar Jesse's attempt at the Elton John classic

evoked nods and smiles from the production crew. But it was Roberto, with his off-key singing and chemistry

with Ali that won the smooth Latino insurance agent the part.

"I think I impressed Ali with my singing," Jesse said. "She seemed

impressed anyway."

But no one was really allowed to sing. Ali and Roberto were hoisted high

above the stage by wires with their sinewy bodies entangled. And of

course, the rest of the jealous bachelors weren't actually in the

audience watching. They were at a remote location, watching on closed

circuit TV, biting their nails, talking shit to each other and whining

about why they should be there instead of obvious front-runner Roberto.

While in NYC, Ali was sick with (what sounded like) a sore throat or

chest congestion. Strangely, none of the other bachelors shared her

affliction considering more than a few had their tongues in her mouth.

Losing her voice, Ali couldn't hang on the group date. Kirk, the sales consultant from Green Bay took Ali

up to her room to you know, tuck her in.

"He just fuckin' took off with her!" Peculiar Jesse exclaimed

incredulously.

You snooze, you lose, homey. Peculiar Jesse was dismissed the following

evening at the fourth rose ceremony along with Jonathan, the Nervous Nelly weatherman from

Houston.

After being dismissed by the show's host, Chris Harrison, Peculiar Jesse said goodbye.

"I'm sorry, Jesse," said Ali, as she hugged him.

"That's all right," Jesse said. "Thank you for the experience. It was

great."

"I just think we didn't really match up," Ali explained.

"I understand. I understand for sure," he said. "It's alright."

During his exit interview, Peculiar Jesse explained: "I'm frustrated,

I'm not gonna lie. She's more of a city girl. That's where she wants to

be. I want some acreage and cows and all that good stuff. And I think

maybe that possibly is something that kind of scared her away from me."

No tears for Peculiar Jesse though. He was probably secretly happy to

get away from the photo shoots and the corniness. "That was awesome, and

anyone would be lucky to have her, but I cannot wait to see my dogs,"

he said.

Still competing for Ali's heart are the obvious picks that will provide

the mayhem and foolishness needed for high ratings for ABC's "New Summer

Monday": wrestler Justin and creepy Kasey, who attempted to show his seriousness

about the situation this week and got inked with a shield protecting a

heart and a rose on his wrist.
