  • Dead Wait's first season wraps up today.

The death toll from Kansas City's zombie apocalypse is at 81 as season one of Dead Wait wraps up today.

The zombie apocalypse web series concludes with (SPOILER ALERT!) a showdown between shut-in Adam Aldrid (Dan

Hillaker) and a brain muncher.

If

you haven't seen the other five episodes in the series by Eric Havens and

Justin Parlette, here's a link to the

rest of the episodes in the series. And if you'd rather see it with

a bunch of people, the series is slated to screen in KC, Lawrence and

Topeka later this summer.

Dead Wait's creators have started an NPR-style pledge drive in attempt to raise money for the second season -- SPOILER ALERT, in season two, Adam leaves his apartment. They'd like to raise $2,000 by September 2 so they can hire a producer, pay the cast and crew and up the production values. And if you've always wanted to play a zombie -- or a victim -- and you have $500 or more to blow, Havens and Parlette can hook you up.

Until then, here's the finale.
