Tawanda Kunonga considered 'person of interest' in homicide of Raytown woman believed to be Latoya Hopkins

Update (4:38 p.m. June 17): Raytown police have officially identified 33-year-old Latoya Hopkins as the victim of a homicide on June 15. 


Original story (4:24 p.m. June 15): Raytown police are looking

for 26-year-old Tawanda Kunonga, and they're calling him

a "person of interest" in this morning's homicide in Raytown.

Raytown

police are now calling the "suspicious death" investigation at 6709 Elm

Avenue a homicide.

are looking for Tawanda Kunonga.

​Relatives of 33-year-old Latoya Hopkins told

Raytown police that they believe she was the woman found dead this

morning.

Kunonga is described as 5-foot-10-inches tall and 160 pounds. He may be

driving a blue Plymouth Neon with Missouri license plates MB8-G4M.

I LOVE YOU SO MUCH TOY, EACH DAY IS HARDER THAN THE OTHER. BUT I KNOW YOU AND GOD ARE GIVING ME THE STRENGTH TO MOVE ON. I CANT BELIEVE THAT THIS HAD TO HAPPENED TO A WONDERFUL WOMAN. TILL WE MEET AGAIN MY SISTER, MY FRIEND, MY MOTHER,AND MOST OF ALL MY GUARDIAN ANGEL.

I will always love you Toy Toy! Every since we discovered that we shared families we always kept that special bond between us! The other day I was remebering when we went to Nowlin an use to spend some of our class time singing the newest duet that were out, lol lol rember how everyone used to tell us to keep on going, Man it is those great moments that i will cherish.

I never thought I'd be saying goood bye like this baby... I mss you and always keep you close in my heart.. Life was hard but always good and memories so many memories and first with you! I thank you for the time we had. And FOR TK I hope they catch yo MF a__ and if i could of been there with mines it would be you in the paper!
