For the last week, I've snapped some quick shots of the ongoing construction of the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. As a commenter pointed out in December, it looks like a giant armadillo. Even more so now.

By the way, the $413 million concert hall is slated to open in fall 2011

(more photos follow).

My husband has worked on this building, well it seems like forever, the glass will be coming soon and yet another tower crane. What beautiful pictures of a beautiful structure. Nice Job.

It is an interesting looking building. A couple of years back K.C. was getting alot of attention for being an art hub. Students were coming from all over America to enroll in the arts here, but then suddenly everything seem to stop. Maybe this will be something that attracts the young people enough to give K.C. another chance.

It looks like a rotting shell left on a beach. In that shell the very idea of public art and performance in America lays dying.

This is a truly an incredible design that will be one of Kansas City's most talked about venues when completed. We are raising the bar for performance venues in the U.S. and around the world. I cannot wait to get a look at this when it is done.

Reminds me of the Sydney Opera House. A magnificent structure.
