Is Scientology your opiate of choice? Then rejoice, meat bodies, for tomorrow is the Church of Scientology's "United Nations Day Against Drugs!"
Scientology churches around the country are "inviting local police, officials, community leaders, parents and teens to toughen up their neighborhoods with youth-oriented drug education activities." The church's national press release doesn't go into the specifics of what these "activities" will entail.
Xenu knows that the corner of 39th Street and Main, where the Kansas
City Church of Scientology office is located, could benefit from an
effort to drive away drug dealers.
But a quote from the Rev. Bob Adams,
spokesperson for the Church of Scientology International (and former
NFL player!) offers a clue about the church's real target: prescription drugs, which Scientologists notoriously oppose.
"It's not just illegal street drugs and youth," Adams says. "Prescription drug abuse is a huge problem. All of it directly relates to health, crime and safety, and things people don't immediately think of in relation to drugs, like success and economics."
Adams knows the relationship between drugs, success and economics firsthand, having dabbled with steroids in college.
You can check out the church's drug-education booklets, videos and documentary, The Truth About Drugs, at www.drugfreeworld.org. Or you could just re-watch the clip of Tom Cruise jumping on Oprah's couch and call it a day.

I liked the Heroin statement... I had a friend in Scientology, He had to revert to smokin CRACK before they would Label him as a "suppressive person" and kick him out of the cult. And all this after droppin his life's savings...
Mama Bear,
You truly are a fucking idiot. Staying in a cult for 17 years, something that you now say you hate. Dumb shit. And don't give me that crap about how brainwashed you are. You're just trying to make up for how stupid you are.
Guize? Can't we all just get along? It's not Scientologists fault that they don't know they have been subversively brainwashed. Well at least we can all agree on one thing that is undeniable. L Ron Hubbard can't sing if his life depended on it. Lol and have a nice day!
Well, that's come and gone. From any other group, even the G8, I wouldn't expect much. But Scientologists claim to control, knowingly and at will, matter, energy, space, time, life and thought. I thought they would just AS-IS the drugs! Whoops, maybe they are full of baloney.
Heather,
Your heart is obviously in the right place, and you are a stellar example of the Church of Scientology. What a bright light you are in such a dark world. Here's an idea...why don't you consider calling up Rush Limbaugh on his radio show, and discuss the evils of prescription drug abuse to him? BE SURE to mention all that you and your church are doing to stop it.
I've heard he is very into that subject, it's very close to his heart (I think he might have lost a child to it?). And be sure to ask him what HE is doing to prevent prescription drug abuse.
He loves that sort of dialogue on his radio show...and will rattle off a long list of charities he works with. He may even ask you if there is a Scientology event that he could endorse for you on his program.
Anyway, it would be a good way to disseminate Scientology's good works to a wide audience. I've heard his audience is at least 10 million people. I'm sure you'll do fine....Good luck, I'll be cheering for you.
Janice
I've met individual Scientologists who are nice people but the OSA Internet patrollers are some nasty pieces of work, easy to imagine the horrorshow that goes on in the inside.
Now Heather, that comment wasn't very "religious" of you. Of course Scientology isn't a religion at all so I would expect no less.
Nice article, and spot on with the observation that this is all about prescription drugs with Scientology. The "church's" alternative? Lots of expensive auditing, books, lectures etc. Their stated goal is to "obliterate" psychiatry/psychology and replace it with the tech of L Ron Hubbard, a deluded, pathological liar and conman.
No thanks Heather.
Scientology: It takes over your mind, controls your life, forces you into dangerous anti-social behavior and ultimately leaves you broke and suicidal.
There is a way out... www.xenutv.com
Heather,
Did you bother to read the article I mentioned above? Or does your cult "censor" your reading to just articles which falsely portray Scientology as good????
Try reading these books, most of which are free on the internet, and you'll see why your cult is the fastest shrinking religion in the 21st century. The truth about this insidious cult is finally coming out!

Most of the advanced scientologists are declared SP (suppressive personality) after they find out the real abusive nature of their "religion", and thrown out. Heroin addiction is hard to stop. So, Scientology is, after all, somewhat less harmful than Heroin.
How awesome of a group of people to take time out of their busy day to help the world out with a real problem.
Who else does that... You, Herman Munster? Or, perhaps it is the kind and inquisitive Mama Bear, who seems to know a lot about what the media puts out, but jack shit about honesty, and correct information from the source?
And very nice to hear you'd rather your child on Heroin, Munster. Because a highly addictive, body ruining drug is healthier than enlightenment and happiness in the form of something you don't know a fucking thing about.
Have a nice day, and go fuck yourselves.
I would rather have my children heroin addicts than Scientologists. Heroin is cheaper, easier to get off of and isn't as bad for your health.
Tobacco and alcohol are OK, right?
How interesting they are so concerned about our childrens' well being. Especially since this so called "church" has rampant stories of child abuse and forced abortions within their own clergy (see below).
http://www.tampabay.com/news/s...
So now they want to invade our family-oriented neighborhoods with their message of staying away from drugs? How two-faced of them, our message to them should be "stay away from our kids"!!!
