Men's Health likes to rank cities under labels like "fattest," "drunkest" and "skankiest." OK, that last one is ours but appropriate given this city's D-
grade for STDs. As far as the others go, the meathead mag with cover boys sporting six-packs of abs ranked KC the sixth-fattest and the 36th-drunkest city in the good ol' U.S. of A. earlier this year. So we're fat, drunk and diseased. Now, we're also the third-most patriotic city in the country.
Men's Health's team of muscle-bound researchers calculated the rankings
from voter turnout; money spent on veterans; number of volunteers;
fireworks and U.S. flag sales; and ratings for Glenn Beck's show.
OK, not the last one, but you get the idea.
So how much red, white and blue does
Kansas City bleed? The city ranked sixth in voter turnout, 20th in
volunteer rate, 46th in spending on vets, 47th in flag
sales and 49th in fireworks spending -- disappointing given the number of shops set up along the highways.
top 10 most patriotic cities:
1. Portland, Oregon
2. Salt Lake City, Utah
3. Kansas
City, Missouri
4. Seattle, Washington
5. Tampa, Florida
6.
Hartford, Connecticut
7. Minneapolis, Minnesota
8. St. Petersburg,
Florida
9. Atlanta, Georgia
10. Madison, Wisconsin
And for those of you who, like short, angry Congressman Sam
Graves, bitch about "San
Francisco values," SF ranked 14th. Not bad for a bunch of
baby-aborting, amnesty-granting, homo-loving liberals.
Hat tip to KSHB Channel 41, which, earlier today, inexplicably believed KC was in Utah.

is anybody REALLY shocked by our ratings? you can't go anywhere in this place w/o seeing someone overflowing out of their car windows or waddling down the sidewalk. lovely.
Our fireworks numbers would be way higher if they were actually sold or allowed in city limits. I think a merely annexing Riverside would put us at #1.
