  • Ex-CDC-KC president William Threatt Jr. is looking at up to seven years in federal prison, if convicted.

Kansas City quirk made a strong showing at the recordBar last night.

The night began with Tut Tut, Alex Abnos' solo project. Katlyn Conroy and the Wild and Wooly filled the bar with a set of warm, warbling lullabies, and the night finished off with a torrential downpour of chaotic pop band Secret Cities (Abnos plays drums for the band).

Gov. Jay Nixon called the session specifically for lawmakers to consider tax incentives for Ford's Claycomo assembly plant -- and to potentially save thousands of jobs on the brink of the "Third Depression". But then lawmakers went all Oprah, and suddenly everyone started finding tax breaks under their seats.

We're more turf than surf here in Kansas City, which means we don't have a lot of fresh seafood options. Many Kansas Citians are wondering if the seafood from the Gulf of Mexico is safe to eat.

AOL News -- along with the rest of the country -- was wondering the same thing. Last night, the site published the results of a two-week investigation into who is responsible for determining the safety of the seafood and just how the food is tested.

Food porn is for the hardcore foodies. The ones who need to photograph their fix of gooey cinnamon rolls and rich duck-confit ravioli in a light stock. But what about the more chaste among us? What if food is less about being hardcore and more about finding new first loves?

For us, it's all about the food crush -- the moment when you discover there is only one food that you want to eat.

As far as the sins of public relations go, is there any worse than misspelling the title of the play that you're being paid to plug?

"The Barn Players, Kansas City's award winning community theatre, will present a special six-performance engagement of the Off-Broadway stage hit "THE VIGINA MONOLOGUES,"  writes Pat "[sic]" Paton of Pat Paton Public Relations, located in Mission, Kansas.

In the press
