Better keep your waders in your car. You never know when a 10-minute burst of rain will flood Kansas City's streets. Westport flooded again, no surprise there. Actually, none of the flooding was a surprise to anyone who lives here and realizes that the city's infrastructure is crap. But yesterday was another chance for local weather watchers to bust out video cameras and capture some really amazing flooding footage -- as long as that's not your car stalled out in the water.

Brush Creek was angry yesterday, my friends (like an old

man trying to return soup at a deli). BlogKC

wrote that the flood control system was working, although the west end

was nearly spewing poo on Ward Parkway. Here's video via BlogKC.

Storm chasers Severe

Studios Kansas City captured the the tail end firefighters rescuing

a mother and an infant from a flooded vehicle at Southwest Boulevard

and Mission Road/Interstate 35 as well as drivers trying to cross the

flooded intersection at Southwest Boulevard and 31st Street.

Even neighborhood streets were flooded by the downpour, see this

video via PJ

Dawgs.

And check out KCTV 5's

slideshow of flooding in Westport in which World Market's parking

lot becomes a lake.

Hat tip to TKC

for drawing attention to the last two videos.

$500,000 for a settlement that could have been only $135,000..... $700,000 for stadium upkeep for millionaire owners and players, $250,000 to study the "need" for a 1,000 room white elephant, ..... effective storm drains in Westpot..... ZERO...

You know, tax increases and pay for that shit. In an industry that has seen +20% unemployment going on seven or eight months now... politicians know that storm sewers aren't as sexy as a new performing arts centers. Wake up your dumbshit councilmen and women. Fuck the arts center, and save the grocery stores! Priorities man, priorities.
