Make no mistake, Regulated Industries is enforcing the city's smoking ban.
About a week ago, Neighbors Lounge (9025 East 35th Street) got dinged, and the bar's two-day suspension is underway (it ends July 21). This week, Regulated Industries nailed J's Bigger Jigger (3019 East 12th Street) and J.C.'s Sports Bar (6135 Northeast Vivion Road) with 10-day liquor license suspensions.
The bars will each have to serve two days of the suspension (the other
eight days will be served if they violate the law again).
J's
Bigger Jigger's suspension is scheduled to run from 6 a.m. July 26 to
1:30 a.m. July 28. J.C.'s Sports Bar's suspension is slated for 6 a.m.
July 23 through 3
a.m. July 25. Both bars will be closed.
The bars have agreed to provide education and training to employees.
Regulated Industries wasn't through, reaching a $1,000 settlement with
III B's convenience store (3800 Gregory Boulevard) for selling alcohol
to minors. It also suspended the liquor license of La
Salsa Mexican Restaurant (2021 Truman
Road) for five days for allowing customers and employees to drink on the
property after last call. La Salsa's suspension is already underway.
It'll end at 1:30 a.m. tomorrow.
Be vigilant bar owners. The watchers are actually watching.
