1. Get fringe-y. KC Fringe Fest starts today. The annual arts happening brings performance, music, film and visual arts to dozens of local venues.

2. Shake it like a pepper shaker. Tonight, dance diva Pepper Mashay performs at The Monaco -- popular gay club night Flex Friday's new home on Martini Corner.

3. Play outside. Swope Park will be swarming with even more families and kids on Saturday. If that sounds like fun to you, join in the annual Party in the Park.

4. Get lei'd. Hawaiian is the theme for The Meowie Wowie Luau, a benefit for the Parkville Animal

Shelter that includes fruity drinks, island fare and a raffle for

an Apple iPad.

5. Hang out with some Brits. A

bunch of English ex-pats are bound to be in the bleachers on Sunday when

the KC Wizards play a friendly game of soccer against the

Manchester United.
