Ladies, better check your purses -- especially if you bought them from James "Jimmy" Dicapo.

Dicapo, 57, pleaded guilty in federal court last week to selling more than $400,000 worth of counterfeit purses and shoes with labels like Burberry, Coach, Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Dooney & Bourke, Ed

Hardy, Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Prada. So if you were at a purse party in Parkville between November 2007 and

September 2009, better check the merchandise.

The feds say

Dicapo's New York-based supplier shipped the purses and shoes via UPS to

Dicapo's house and Dee Fashion in Kansas City, Kansas.

Dicapo

got nailed selling fake purses to undercover agents, including selling

counterfeit Prada and Coach purses for $85 a piece. The government is

claiming hundreds of counterfeit goods.

Dicapo is looking at 25

years in federal prison without parole and a six-figure fine, which should lead to some interesting what-are-you-in-for conversations on the inside.

Dicapo ought to be familiar with the feds

by this point. In May, a

federal grand jury indicted Dicapo and three other men for running a

$3.5 million illegal gambling operation. The feds alleged that

Dicapo worked as a bookmaker in the operation between March 2006 and

April 2009.

If

you want to know more about counterfeit purse parties, former Pitch writer

Ben Paynter has you covered with his 2006 feature, "The

Beauty of Fake."

wow - just ran across this..... crazy about giving jail time for someone selling bags - trust, anyone buying a fake knows it - not that big of a deal if you look at the big picture.... i have a close relative that was murdered & one of his murders just received probation, but give 25 years to a guy selling bags?????? wtf??? .... in the big scheme of things - this is not the end of the world & sounds like a waste of govt money going after this kind of stuff.... not sure where the case is at but best of luck to your family.

I can speak for the whole family and everyone in this city that my dad jimmy is the father a boy can have. We never sold a purse as a REAL purse EVERRRRRRRR.I worked with my dad for two years strait and never heard my dad say"this is real" to ANYONE EVER.Just another example of the government going after my dad for no reason whatsoever when u can go to super flea and buy knockoffs at atleast 3 stands. im not saying it wasnt wrong but punish everyone the same not just him. Sounds like selective prosecution to me,or the government trying to make us italians look bad cause were not.anyways dad if u read this i want u to know i really appreciate everything u have done for me i love u and always will no matter what. Thanks paul 4 takin my dad away from me again. And donna u should go to church for lying like that and u know u did and thats not rite but remember what goes around comes around trust me.The government thinks my dad is some bad guy well guess what hes not.Its already been two years and this is the first time i have said whats on my mind but i love u dad and i promise i will wait for u to get back to get married, cant have a wedding without a best man.
