The last thing I want to do when I'm drinking is pedal 15 of my drunk friends around. I'll pass. So I can't imagine wanting to pedal their asses around sober.
But that's what's going on in Lawrence (and will be for the next year). Luke Stone borrowed the idea after seeing the Pedal Pub in Minneapolis and decided to bring it to Lawrence, according to the Lawrence Journal-World. So if you see a 16-seat, pedal-powered bar on the street, that's what's up.
Stone calls it Pedal Hopper, and
his bar on wheels is alcohol-free. Huh? Stone is trying to fix that
problem, but the state of Kansas forbids it. He plans to operate the
rolling dry bar for a year.
Here's your future wife trying it
out.
Having second thoughts?
Pedal Hopper costs $140 an hour with
a two-hour minimum. So at least $280. Only in Lawrence.
