  • Real Americans wear houndstooth, right, Michele?

Last week, Minnesota freedom-lover Michele Bachmann founded the House Tea Party Caucus. Hooray! So why's she throwing her houndstooth-clad weight behind Roy Blunt, Missouri Senate candidate, instead of "real Tea Party candidate" Chuck Purgason?

Bachmann is planning a trip on Saturday to work at a Missouri phone bank for Blunt's campaign. Naturally, Missouri Tea Partiers are gathering

their collective rotten tomatoes to hurl at her when she arrives.

Blogs at Gawker and the Huffington

Post are taking note of Bachmann's non-Tea-Party endorsement.

A sample of the indignant statements collected at the Reboot Congress blog:

"We, in the Sikeston Tea Party, do not endorse or even want Roy Blunt

for our next Senator. We do not appreciate Michelle Bachman [sic] coming here

as a representative of the Tea Party and making that endorsement and

campaigning for him. She does not represent the views of the Sikeston

Tea Party on this issue."

The Eureka Tea Party reads even more sinister signs in their tea leaves:
"[Bachmann] is either working directly for the GOP as an endorser for GOP-backed Republican candidates, or she is completely misinformed and/or

attempting to mislead the tea party groups."

It's clearly as black-and-white as Bachmann's favorite jacket: She's either masquerading as a Tea Party backer, or she's not smart enough to choose the proper candidate.

Michelle masqueraded as a tea party endorser since she could easily do that since if you go to most of the tea party official sites they endorsed no one. All of the Tea Party groups should have united around their favorite candidates months ago so they could have had the support needed to win. Standing for no one will get you exactly where they ended up - no where. I looked all over for their endorsements when I was making my decisions on who to vote for and did not find much help. I did not see Chambers list above until today.

Sabrina, just because someone is a republican does that mean they are a conservative? Roy Blunt supported George Bush's spend like a drunken sailor all through the nineties. With our debt over $12 TRILLION and rising we just can't afford anymore republicans (rino's) and democrates that spend, spend, spend!!!!!!!!!! It is time that we tighten our belts and just say NO>

I emailed Michelle Bachmann and asked her NOT to come to Missouri to endorse or campaign for Republicans until AFTER our primary election

I further advised her that the Tea Party Candidte in Missouri for US Senator was Chuck Purgason, not Roy Blunt.

I also gave her a copy of my recent news release regarding the Tea Party Candidates in Missouri.

Mexico Mo Tea Party does not support Roy Blunt. He signed the Tarp and Cash for Clunkers. Michelle Bachmann is endorsing the wrong candidate that does not share the principles of the Tea Party that we have fought so hard for. Hopefully, she will back peddle, admit her wrongs, stand corrected and make it right, and choose Chuck Purgason. If she doesn't she needs to step out of the light of the Tea Party, we do not want anyone who chooses party over principles. I cannot fathom how she steered off the path of not listening to the will of the people.

Why are you saying she is masquerading as a Tea Party backer ? Give some examples of the attempting to mislead the group.
