No one likes to lose in court, but it must really chap the ass to know that your money is going to fund a group like the Westboro Baptist Church.
It's a severe pain Bellevue, Nebraska, is feeling all too well right now. The city just shelled out $17,000 to WBC's favorite daughter Shirley Phelps-Roper to get her to drop a lawsuit.
Phelps-Roper was arrested in Bellevue in 2007, right after she and her son finished desecrating a U.S. flag as part of the approximately eleventy-billionth Westboro protest that year. Phelps-Roper filed a suit claiming that Bellevue's rule requiring permits within the city limits was unconstitutional. In one of life's funny coincidences, on the same day Phelps-Roper and Bellevue reached their agreement, a federal judge and the Nebraska attorney general agreed that the state's flag-desecration law was unconstitutional and should no longer be enforced.
See, this is one of the most horrible things about the WBC. As I wrote in this week's feature ("What Westboro Gets Right"), sometimes they actually have a point, and it's a good thing Phelps-Roper is sort-of winning this because First Amendment rights have to protect even repugnant speech. It's just a shame the system needs to be tested by such a pompous dickworm.

The westboro babtist is not a "church", it is a hate group. They are in it for the money and the press. Most of the members of this "church" are attorneys. If any other group showed up at your door, would they get away with this? No! Why do they? Any one can say they are a "church", that is not going to make you a Church! We in this country let a lot pass for "church". This is not about freedom, it is about being human. The hate is a way to make money, by bringing a Lawsuit against people THEY have provoked. They are running a “church” scam.

Shirley Phelps Roper has absolutely positively NO RIGHT AT ALL to desecrate an America Flag. What Shirley Phelps Roper tends to forget that the America Flag is a symbol of the freedom of this great nation of ours. And she also tends to forget is that our service men and woman has fought so diligently and they even compromised their own lives so that we can have the freedom of speech that we have today. And they even fought so diligent so that she can have the distinct honor and privilege to diligent preach her pathetic little garbage. And that is exactly what is pathetic little garbage in every sense of the word. There is no other word in the English Language that can literally define sick depravity such as this. As far as homosexuality is concerned yes,it is not only is contrary to Biblical principles it also in direct contradiction to Gods Laws as well. A man shall not engage in sexual intercourse with a man. Nor shall a woman engage in sexual intercourse with a woman. Homosexuality is considered sodomy. And sodomy is also in direct contradiction of Gods Laws as well. If you want my honest opinion I think that all same sex marriages should be abolished completely. Those are my sentiments exactly. These particular individuals are totally defiling the marriage bed as a direct result of their most despicable acts. Not only are same sex marriages a direct contradiction of Gods Laws they are also a direct violation of human nature as well. If God would have intended men to totally engage in a same sex marriage he would have created Adam and Steve and not Adam and Eve. In the Catholic Church they always emphasize the same sex couples deserve respect and concern. They also contend that you should hate the sin but love the sinner. Sure,we should love and respect these particular individuals. But we should always refrain from any further association with these particular individuals at all times. Yes,we should love and forgive these particular individuals. But we must be completely leery of them each and every time. In the Catholic Church homosexuality is considered a mortal sin. And you most certainly shall not receive the Sacraments if you are in the state of mortal sin. If in the event that you do receive the Sacraments while in the state of mortal sin you are most certainly receiving them unworthily. And you are most certainly receiving them under very false pretenses. If you so desire to receive the Sacraments once again you must go to Confession on Saturday Afternoon and confess your sins to God and you must make full amends for what you have done. After you have received full absolution for your sins and are truly repentant of them then you will be deemed worthy to receive the Sacraments and not before. You must firmly resolve not to commit the same sins over and over again. As the old saying goes:Actions do speak louder than words. Showing that you are truly sorry is much more important than the actual words used. Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominate sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. It's psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. Basing itself on Sacred Scripture,which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity,traditions has always declared that homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered. They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved. The number of men and women who have deep seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination,which is objectively disordered,constitutes for most of them a trial. They must accepted with respect,compassion,and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard must be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill Gods will in their lives and,if they are Christians,to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord's Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition. Homosexual persons are called to chastity. By the virtues of self mastery that teach them inner freedom,at times by the support of disinterested friendship,by prayer and sacramental grace,they can and should gradually and resolutely approach Christian perfection. Leviticus 18:22:You will not have intercourse with a man as you would with a woman. This is a hateful thing. Let us all pray that homosexuality comes to an abrupt end effective immediately.

I am sickened that these people call themselves Christians, yet preach such hatred. God does infact hate sin, but He loves all of His people. He doesn't wish to comdemn anyone to Hell, but He will, because He is a just God and cannot go against His own desires. These poor individuals will go on preaching their hatred because they are protected by laws. Laws that are defended by the very people they "condemn". How ironic. This is just another Waco, or Jim Jones situation. It's just too bad they get publicity.

Why did so many people fail at "attacking" her?
stupid fags , you should be thanking them instead of insulting them. You broke the law when you arrested them for telling you the truth and they taught you a lesson. They will use your money to further get in your face and teach you some more.
