Animal rights activist Jason Miller promised a "relentless campaign" against the supposed "enslaving, torturing, and murdering" of primates by researchers at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He's delivering.
Last month, Miller and his fellow Bite Club of KC
members slipped on lab coats, stood on the
sidewalk and chanted outside the home of a KU Med researcher. On Saturday, Miller and 11 friends picked up the crusade, painting their car windows like kids going to the state football playoffs, except their slogans were more along the lines of "KU Med Center tortures monkeys" and "KU violates animal welfare laws." Not exactly rah-rah stuff.

yelling in his bullhorn "to educate the public."

at KU Med. Security didn't like them handing out "Wanted" posters
targeting the so-called crimes of two researchers or his crusade
to end animal research. Miller's
protests at KU Med have earned him trespassing
tickets. He also FedEx'ed
a pig's head to Barbara
Atkinson, the med center's executive vice chancellor, and
offered $35,000 to anyone who can free the primates or end the research
-- peacefully, of course).

Every single one of you received DPT vaccinations when you were young, and, in so doing, you were spared these diseases.
You who support the banning of biomedical research have little training in science, don't trust scienctific research, and haven't a clue about the conduct of experiments, the review and scrutiny of animal protocols before experiments are started, and the federal regulations involved that are stricter than those that apply to nursing homes. You have not tried to really understand the potential benefits of medical research, andyou discount the discoveries that have been made in so many areas of disease. Yet, you are happily and easily emotionally "triggered" by slogans and words like cruelty and torture when they are fed to you by your social engineering mentors.
You don't know anything about what causes diabetes. Yes, it is triggered in many by overeating; that is a recent phenimenon. But the disease was widespread in children long before the obesity pandemic. How is your ingnorance of diseases and how to treat than going to help a young child with juveline-onset diabetes? (Sounds like you animal rights folks need diversity training...why are you discriminating against the obese?)
Yes, we should use humans to research the biology of ebola, malaria and other killers of the world. Which of your relatives are you willing to sacrifice. You begin to sound like Hitler!
My wife and I have four cats and love them deeply. PETA says that we shouldn't have pets. While Jason would enjoy sleeping with his rabid dogs, we, on the other hand, have given our cats leukemia and other shots to keep them healthy and to guarantee them a long life. How do you suppose these shots were researched and developed?
And remember, Singer, your hero, advocated, on philosophical grounds, the euthananasia of children born defective.
Mr. Miller, is to be commended for his tenacity and courage. All of the abuse and horror that are inflicted on primates at KC
are public recorrd. The reports by the UADA of KC's non compliance of federal rules and regulations, which at best are minimal, are
public resord. Mr Kendall you should have done your job and researched these.
Yes the public needs to be educated, to the unspeakable cruelty animals are subjected to, largely on public funds. There is no reason to abstain from medicine, medicine
works despite the fact of animal use, not because of it. Animal research, is nothing more than the "show and tell" of science.
Before any medicine is approved for public
use, it must go through human trials.
As only human research is valid.

Mr Miller is standing up for the truth, despite public ridicule and threats, to his personal safety and that of the other activists.

To Mr Millers critics, I would like to ask
a question. What bothers you most, his
compassion or his epathy?
While there are some clever animal-haters chiming in, the fact remains that not only is vivsection inherently cruel, it is not valid medical science. Humans are not helped by gruesome veterinary "experiments". At least 95% of vivisection is "basic research",experimentation for its own sake, which makes no claim to curing anything. To pick just one of the empty arguments thrown at Jason here, there is no proof that vaccines have stopped any disease, as a look at public health records shows. Infectious diseases run their course, vaccines were introduced near the bottom of the graph. There is, however, plenty of proof that vaccines harm people. Keep laying it on Jason, you are correct morally and scientifically, and those who are trashing animals to pay their bills need to look inside themselves and admit the truth. Many former "researchers" have done so, and they spend their time debunking the PR claims of a dishonest and violent vivisection industry.

It's funny when hippies post meat industry videos.
I used to watch these videos in college, when I was learning how to properly eviscerate a cow. Not that I have to do that for the job I have now, but it's not like they are showing a 10 year old "Faces of Death". The only people that would be offended by slaughterhouse videos are the type of people that are already weary of blood(regardless of the source) and susceptible to scare tactics.

I�m 49 and have been a Type 1 diabetic (that�s insulin dependent for those who don�t know) for 24 years. I�d probably be dead if these assholes had their way. It was research done in labs on animals, specifically pigs, that lead to the breakthroughs in synthesizing modern insulin that makes treatment available to more people.
Stop research on animals or help millions of people live� not a tough choice.
On a lighter note. Did anyone hear what PETA was up to lately? They decided to lay off the fur folks for a while and go after leather. They protested a biker rally. Threw water balloons at the guys wearing leather.
No one was killed but a few PETA folk did get invited to lunch� hamburgers and hotdogs� no was not taken for an answer. Other PTEAs were given the chance to join the club and typical initiation hazing ensued. Duct taped to a telephone pole and pissed on. Bound with duct tape and tossed into a dumpster.

Jason is bringing awareness to the people in KC of the horrors that are being inflicted on innocent animals. If you stop your arrogant and selfish denial, and listen with an open mind you would be as outraged as he is, and want to help him make the necessary changes for a more intelligible, compassionate society.

Thank you for the support. As the founding member of Bite Club and most-notably known for my plight of the deer at Shawnee Mission Park, I have taking great pride in my ability to speak on behalf of the animals that lack the voice to speak up against the researchers. In an effort to further protect animals, I will be boycotting the Ford plant in Claycomo next week. The manufacturers of the Escape Hybrid have knowingly killed or maimed 5,000+ squirrels and birds over the past 6 years. Unfortunately, the general public fails to see the importance of the deceased fowl and rodent population. Squirrels and birds are the prey of animals such as snakes, larger birds of prey, the homeless, and incests. The automobile industry is taking away their natural fit into the food chain.
In addition to the Ford plant protest, I will be protesting at the zoo infront of the reptile exhibit. I will not, under my cloak and cape, allow snakes to eat other animals. This is a travesty! I will not allow this to happen.
Following the zoo protest, I will be taking my business as usual approach to the dinner table where my parents will be eating bologna sandwiches. How dare they?! My own flesh and blood taking advantage of the carnivorous actions of the human race. I will not tolerate carnivorous actions in any form while wearing my Superman underwear.
Finally, me and my team are filing a law suit against the "Yo Quiero Taco Bell Dog". That canine little shit is promoting processed beef powder as a delicacy. I have contacted Scooby Doo, who has given up quadruple-stack sandwiches and ended his relationship with Shaggy, and asked him to represent the Bite Club in this law suit.
The Bite Club, and all of our counterpart organizations, will not stop until the world is overrun by disease and over-population. I will not sleep in my footed pajamas until rabid animals can sleep peacefully in my bed next to me.
