Police are after Westboro Church vandal; Shirley Phelps-Roper is after another lawsuit

  • Another death, another protest.

Police are after a man who tagged Westboro Baptist Church last month and took some mail. Have you seen him? He's a twentysomething white guy in shorts and a T-shirt. Oh, and he had a flashlight in his mouth at the time, if that helps. See here for some stills captured by the WBC security camera.

Good thing you and the Topeka PD have got that one, because WBC seems to be pretty lax about managing its vandals. When someone vandalized the property with swastikas in May, WBC wanted to protect the vandals' free speech and allow the hate message to remain.

In other news from Bigotville ...

Mistress of the House of Fag-hating God Shirley Phelps-Roper filed her latest lawsuit on Monday. Her string of legal actions all stem from her 2007 protest of a National Guardsman's funeral in Bellevue. (In case you've blocked it out, the WBC believes that the deaths of U.S. soldiers exist as God's punishment to the country for putting up with homosexuals.) She wore an American flag that dragged on the ground, and her child, who was 10 years old at the time, stood on a flag. Phelps-Roper was arrested.

Her latest lawsuit claims that her constitutional rights were violated by Sarpy County prosecutors when she was investigated for her protest. But Phelps-Roper is no stranger to the litigation-making process, and she's had a surprising amount of success. In July, she claimed it was unconstitutional to require permits to anyone wishing to protest within city limits; the city paid her $17,000 for dropping her lawsuit. Also last month, she challenged Nebraska's flag law, which made it illegal to trample or deface either a Nebraskan or American flag. She won that one too.

Stay tuned for the results of her latest constitutional throw-down.

You know they think you're going to hell too, right? It doesn' matter if you just hate "fags". If you don't belong to their church, you're going to hell in their eyes.

Life is not a lesson to be learnt through fear. But to be lived through achievements without regret.
You ppl will never know just how free you are
until you let go of hate and control.

Protest in your own state. I, for one, will praise. Amazing how she uses the constitution to protect her 'rights' to protest, but is protesting the very people that give their lives to protect her rights. She is a hypocrite and I will praise God the day she dies and faces her judgement. Read your bible, judgement is not hers to make. I will NOT be praying God gives mercy to her soul, I will pray for his full wrath.
