Divorces are rarely easy. Lots of hurt feelings and anger and sometimes these things end violently. So don't be like the 44-year-old Lee's Summit man who tried to bring a .380 caliber semiautomatic weapon with a couple of bullets in the magazine into the courthouse for his divorce hearing yesterday morning. Not a good idea.
Not only will you probably miss your court hearing, you'll end charged (for trying to bring a firearm into a county facility) and locked up. And your wallet will be lighter if you want out of jail.
Sure, you may have
forgot it in your briefcase. But let's keep those guns out of the divorce proceedings. They are not a negotiating tool.

I HAVE A CONCEALED WEAPONS PERMIT AND I ENTERED A COURT BUILDING ARMED.
HOWEVER, BEFORE I WENT THROUGH THE METAL DETECTER ARC I EXPLAINED TO THE COPS THAT I WAS CARRYING BUT THAT I HAD A PERMIT FOR IT WHICH I SHOWED.
NO FUSS, I WAS TOLD THAT ARMED I COULDNT ENTER THE BUILDING BUT THAT I SHOULD LEAVE IT IN THE LOCKED BOOT OF MY CAR WHICH ID PARKED UP OUTSIDE. I DULY DID JUST THAT AND RETURNED, ENTERED THE BUILDING AND MET COUNCIL OVER MY DIVORCE.
MY LAWYER HAS SINCE SAID THAT THE FACT THAT I WAS POLITE AND SHOWED MY PERMIT BEFORE! ENTERING THE BUILDING MAKES ALL! THE DIFFERENCE!
They are not a negotiating tool
They're not? Maybe someone should inform the US Government about this.
