Richard

Volberding's water heater wasn't working last February. So he called Daniel Johnson and Mark Owens to fix the thing. Problem for Volberding was that the guys had to walk past his computer to get to the circuit box -- and Volberding didn't bother closing photos of naked children in sexually suggestive poses on his computer screen. The repairmen saw 'em, figured out an excuse to leave the Volberding's home and turned him in.

Parkville police seized Volberding's home and found 10 videos and thousands of images of suspected child porn as well as stories showing child sexual abuse, rape, incest and beastiality.

"This defendant possessed

literally thousands of pieces of illegal child pornography depicting

children being sexually abused by their parents, raped, and sodomized,

as well as bestiality involving child victims," Platte County prosecutor

Eric Zahnd said in a statement. "Anyone who collects that

kind of truly sickening filth deserves decades in prison."

And that's exactly what he's looking at. Volberding pleaded guilty yesterday to six counts of possessing child

porn videos and images of children engaged in sexual conduct as well as

fan fiction. He's facing 74 years in prison. We'll find out what he gets October 7.
