Vicki Holland Tiahrt really wanted see her husband, Todd, become a U.S. senator.
On her Twitter feed, Holland Tiahrt ("Wife, Mom, Christian, USA!") continues to contest the primary that Jerry Moran won on August 3. A week after the election, Hollard Tiahrt called the polls which anticipated a larger margin of victory for Moran "completely bogus." She's also retweeted a couple of posts from a fake Moran Twitter account, suggesting that party unity remains a work in progress now that the primary battle is over.
Holland Tiahrt's tweets reflect the hard-fought, high-stakes nature of the race. The difference in the two congressmen's voting records is infinitesimal. Without real ideas fighting for supremacy, Moran and Tiahrt spent the summer calling the other a wimpy and godless traitor. The two even disputed whether or not they had a conversation about negative campaigning.
Holland Tiahrt is not masking her disappointment that she won't be a senator's wife for the next 18 years or so. (Kansas is thoroughly Republican; Moran will coast to victory in November and foreseeable general elections.) Her Twitter feed also indicates that hard-right conservatism comes naturally at chez Tiahrt.
In a recent blog item, the Wichita Eagle's editorial page quoted a National Review Online essay, which encourages Republicans to focus on jobs and the size of government and give the social issues a rest. But Mrs. Tiahrt will not be told her obsession with icky gay sex her belief in the sanctity of heterosexual marriage is misguided. "[W]hy we need a new paper," she wrote, linking to the biased and offensive editorial.

Hey, that picture's at the main branch of the Wichita Public Libary - I recognize the shelves in the background.
And outside of Kansas, where would a woman be caught dead, out in public, in that gawdawful outfit? And why does she rank being an American fourth, after 1. Wife, 2. Mother and 3. Christian? (Okay, I know why, but still...America shouldn't finish fourth in any poll.)
