David Buie sure did enjoy working with children.
He was a member of the Hickman Mills school board, and as an administrator at the Kansas City Parks and Recreation Department, he was sure to encounter a lot of them. And for slow days, he had hundreds of porny kiddie pics downloaded onto his work computer.
Buie, 55, was sentenced to four years in jail yesterday for child porn. He was also ordered to pay $3,000 in restitution to a victim identified in the images.
When a computer tech notified the FBI that Buie had downloaded a suspicious file onto his computer at KC P&R, they launched a full investigation. By the time the investigation began, Buie had resigned. (The allegations didn't help his chances at reelection for school board, so he withdrew his candidacy from that too.)
Buie's computer held 300 to 600 pornographic images. His car was full of floppy disks that contained hundreds of images of kids who were too young to know what floppy disks were.
