Remember last month when Captain Buzzcut Jack Harry was all "juiced up" over the rumors that the Kansas City Royals were for sale? Yeah, I tried to forget too.
"I have never ever talked to anyone about selling the club," Royals owner David Glass told The Kansas City Star's Bob Dutton. "Period. I have never had a discussion with anyone about it, and I have
no interest in doing so."
And if that denial wasn't strong enough, Glass continued:
"TheDutton pinned the rumors on "the blogosphere" and "fueled byonly guys who hear rumors are you guys in the media," he said.
"I'm surprised to hear that (we're looking to sell the club). We've
never considered it. We've never talked to anybody. And we have no
interest in talking to anybody about it. Period."
occasional discussion on talk radio," but hold up. This started with Harry,
KSHB Channel 41's buzz-cut-sporting sports anchor, who claimed in July that
the rumor in "financial circles" was that Glass wanted to sell the team
before the 2012 All-Star Game.
Looks like that's not going to happen, as many of you had wished (in our
poll, 87 percent of you said you'd love it if Glass sold the team).
For
those of you have lost hope, Glass is trying to lead by example. One
reason he doesn't want to sell the team: the dog days are almost over.
"I want to be around for the good times," Glass chuckled. "I don't
want to miss that. I think we can see the light at the end of the
tunnel. I think the organization is doing it the right way.
Oh, I see. Glass knew what he was doing the whole time. All part of a
masterful 12-year plan. Bravo.
By the way, Jack, how's
Mike Shanahan doing as the Chiefs' head coach?
