If a childhood shaped by Sweet Valley High books and the opening scene of "Grease" has taught me one thing, it's that summer is meant for flings. With the fall months fast approaching, it's time to hold your lover close before layers of wool and knits come between you.
Even animals are known to get in some couple time before the cold descends, as this picture of two birds caught mid-necking shows. Pitch Flickr pool member Joey A. Dominguez took this picture last summer while visiting the Kansas City Zoo.
There is a walk through bird cage in the zoo that brings visitors face to beak with their fine-feathered friends.
"Some of the birds would fly to you and land on your shoulder," Dominguez recalls. A pair of Australian Rainbow Lorikeet Parrots, however, were much more interested in each other. "These two were very
fond of each other and never left the others side."
"Love Birds" is just one of many great pics in The Pitch's Flickr Pool. Share your best news, music, food, arts, nightlife or random photos by joining the group. They may even be featured on Pitch.com.
