Brian Nieves' crazy talk has finally come back to haunt him.

Nieves, who allegedly assaulted and threatened his political rival's campaign manager, Shawn Bell, was supposed to appear in Cole County Circuit Court today. Riverfront Times reported today that Brian Nieves' court appearance has been postponed, at the request Nieves.

This is the same Brian Nieves who said on the air that when Shawn Bell asked for a delay in the hearing (which was rescheduled for today), it was obvious that Bell was lying:

This is what I'm kind of asking everyone to look at...if all you're going to do is go to the hearing and tell the truth, why would you need more time to prepare, rehearse and get ready, if all you're gonna do is tell the truth?

Shawn Bell's attorney, Michael Byrne, told RFT that he filed an amended petition, and that Nieves' attorney wanted more time to look it over. By "look it over," Nieves' lawyer obviously meant "concoct a web of lies."
