'Looking up': The Pitch Flickr Pool Pic of the Week

Nothing like lounging in a park over the weekend to take your mind off the slings and arrows of a long workweek. On any given Saturday or Sunday, weather permitting, you can find tons of families and friends sprawled out on the grass at Loose Park or the front lawn of the Nelson Atkins Museum.
This long Labor Day weekend is the last summer holiday before the weather takes a turn for the fall, a.k.a. the end of picnic weather. That's what drew me to

It reminded me of
Georges Seurat's pointillist painting "
A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte."
Although
Spoonemore's photo lacks the bustle skirts and umbrellas of the elegant
caste, the bright green grass, hats and various poses of people at
leisure are a perfect match.
