The cold-blooded killing in this city isn't limited to just people. Just ask Brenda Looney. Her 1-year-old Jack Russell terrier, Chico, was hanged to death in her front yard in Independence over the weekend.
The Kansas City Star reports that Looney "suspects
someone who has a personal vendetta against her."
I'd say. I hate to blame the victim here -- because I really feel bad for Looney, who no doubt went through a traumatic experience finding her dog "hanging about 2 feet off the ground" -- but this part of her story really bugged me.
Looney told the Star that "she left Chico, who often slept
inside, tied to a tree Friday night."
You left a little, attention-starved yippy dog outside all night? I
could see where your neighbors might not be happy with Chico barking all night long. He's a house dog, albeit one that didn't
deserve this fate.
If Law & Order: SVU has taught me anything, it's that
anyone willing to kill an animal like this is just a step away from
becoming a serial
killer.

Yes, I saw a dog in my hometown hang himself b/c he was tied to a tree. The cats and rabbits running around him had him chasing them and it didn't take long for the chain to wrap around his neck and kill him.
The retard that asked me to feed him the night before blamed me. I'm sure the lady's decision to tether the dog to the tree was the reason it died.
If she left the dog outside on a rope, it's entirely possible the canine managed to hang itself. Maybe not likely, but definitely possible. Wouldn't be the first time a dog left tied up with a rope or chain strangled itself.
That's the first thing I thought when I saw that on the news, too. The dog was probably barking and keeping neighbors awake. Not that they should have killed it, but people should take responsibility.
