  • Christopher Blacklock is accused of making you late for work.

Update II (2:49 p.m. September 9): Remember being stuck on Interstate 35 during the morning rush Tuesday? You can blame Christopher K. Blacklock.

Johnson County prosecutors have charged Blacklock with first-degree murder in the stabbing death of 29-year-old Ziahdrick D. Williams, which shut down the the southbound lane a couple of days ago.

Blacklock is locked up in the JoCo jail on $2 million bond. But he isn't the only one catching blame for the shut down.

The JoCo prosecutor has also filed charges against Eric B.

Blake-Eakin and Leshun P. Curtis for allegedly possessing marijuana with the intent to distribute and

felony possession of drug paraphernalia.

They're also in the JoCo jail on $100,000 bond and scheduled to appear

in court Friday at 1:30 p.m.

Update I (11:47 a.m. September 8): Olathe police say the homicide

victim is 29-year-old Ziahdrick D. Williams of Texas.

Three

people were taken into custody and are in the Johnson County jail.

Police say charges are pending.

Just

one of the reasons you were late for work this morning.

Original Story (10 a.m. September 7): The morning rush took a

deadly turn this morning. While some of you were probably stuck in

traffic on Interstate 35 and bitching about being late for work, someone

was dying of stab wounds. Fox 4 reported

that one person died of stab wounds while another is in stable

condition after suffering stab wounds to the hands.

KMBC Channel 9 reported

that southbound I-35 was shut down south of Old 56 Highway in Olathe

and northbound I-35 was down to one lane. KMBC added that three people

were taken into custody and even had live shots of the arrests during

this morning's news broadcasts (thanks, Johnny Rowlands!).

KSHB

Channel 41 filled

in some of the blanks:

Investigators say about 7

a.m., a car with Texas plates was headed

southbound on I-35 when it swerved off the road, overcorrected and

slammed into the median.

A Kansas Highway Patrol officer

witnessed the accident and as he was approaching, two men got out of the

vehicle and appeared to begin chasing each other, police said.

The

two men were apparently the stabbing victims. KSHB also reported that

blood spatter could be seen on and around a white four-door car.

Yeah,

so at least you have a good excuse for being late (getting trashed watching Boise State rally to beat Virginia Tech doesn't count).
