This is the second year Canedo's held the event, which will feature live music, games, a Latino DJ, non-alcoholic drinks, food, performances, and, just so we're all informed, STD and HIV testing.
"We're expecting maybe 600 people," says Canedo. Besides using his La Super X radio show to talk about adult issues, Canedo's also credited by local HIV/AIDS advocacy groups with helping make valuable inroads on prevention and education in the metro's Latino community.
So go check it out. Sure it's not quite as big as the Gay Pride fest, but it's already expected to draw a much bigger crowd that the inaugural Latino Gay Pride Day, and this is how you build a scene. Canedo's already working on next year's event, and hoping to book a Mexican pop star.
