Students at the University of Kansas and University of Missouri have more going for them besides die-hard sports fans, comely co-eds and confused grandpas in fisherman's hats.

Lawrence, Kansas, and Columbia, Missouri, made the American Institute for Economic Research's top 20 "college towns with fewer than 250,000 residents," according to the Kansas City Business Journal. KU came in at number 9, MU ranked 13th.

The list took plenty of things into consideration, like the town's

income, unemployment rate, arts and leisure scene, cost of living and

how many people have degrees in the area.

I wonder if this

ranking will start a new rivalry between the schools, complete with

finger snapping and pirouetting over which town is truly the best,

American Institute for Economic Research be damned.
