The athletic exploits of Bond's son, Sam, came up during a portion of the interview in which Bond talked about the balance of being a politician and a family man. Missouri's senior senator complained about a vote on a stupid tax bill that interrupted a Little League game. Sam hit a home run, making Bond the first working parent to miss an important ball game or dance recital.
Then, in D.C. cocktail party mode, Bond mentioned that Sam attended St. Albans School, a boys' preparatory academy that Al Gore and other elites have attended. Sam was quite the star on the gridiron, Bond will have you know.
[M]y son, Sam, was a great football player for St. Albans. Played offense and defense. He was named honorable mention, All American in high school, defensive back. But he was a big horse as a running back. And I was marching in a campaign parade in Kirksville, Missouri. And after it was over Bill Frist called me -- because his kids went to the same school. He said, "You missed Sam's career day." He ran for 238 yards, scored two touchdowns and had all kinds of defensive tackles, kicked off, punted, did everything. I missed the whole thing.Sam Bond would grow up to become a Marine who served in Iraq. His father voted for the invasion, and the U.S. troops who died during that endeavor missed a lot more than the St. Albans-Bishop O'Connell game.

You are a Blogger. You are not the News. I have had the Honor of going to a State School System. And a State College. Though, Sam went to Private Schools, and Ivy League because of his Father's Position, Sam was a Great Marine. I have worked with and served with Sam in the Marine Corps, and Have had to Squat his Heavy Arse, for Buddy Workouts that we do. He has also had to squat myself. He put in the Hard Effort to Become a Marine. Leave him out of the Story. I know him personally. As for the Senator, no kidding, the Man has a Point. Whether you are a democrat, or a republican or a Liberal, you still have a Family Life. And though Service members have lossed their lives, there are few of us, that are living ours. So, have a bit of compassion, and respect when you are talking about some one, and inferring that they don't care about the war or what is going on. The Senator was blessed to have a Son like Sam, and the fact that Sam is Smart and a WorkHorse insures that he is good at being a Warfighter.
