Revolution to Casey Brezik apparently meant slashing the throat of a middle-aged dean at a community college.
The 22-year-old Brezik is accused of attacking 55-year-old Al Dimmitt Jr., the dean of instruction at Metropolitan Community College's Penn Valley campus, before a scheduled press conference by Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon yesterday. Nixon, as you can imagine, canceled his presser because there's really no way to follow up a stabbing.
Brezik liked to spread his revolutionary rhetoric to his 24 Facebook friends (I've already changed the number twice because people keep unfriending him), including posting just hours prior to yesterday's attack.
In the hours before yesterday's attack, Brezik posted the cryptic message below.

Brezik was apparently living out his anarchist fantasy. In June, he bragged
about getting arrested at the Toronto G20 summit:

ACCOMPLISHED
that police are looking into whether Nixon was the target
given Brezik's Facebook statuses (for real) and his unique wardrobe choice: a bullet-proof vest. And those reports about "demonic" tats, well, Brezik reportedly has the anarchy symbol tattooed on his hand. So leave the satanists out of this.
Brezik
probably sees himself as a political prisoner. But his revolution
will have to go on hold now that Jackson County prosecutors have charged
him with two counts of first-degree assault and two counts of armed
criminal action.
Meanwhile, Dimmitt is reportedly in stable condition
after undergoing surgery.

Actually the story was on the cover of The Kansas City Star newspaper two days after the incident. The Kansas City Star has a circulation of 260,724 Daily. The story appeared on the front page of the paper again when it was discovered he meant to kill the Governor. The star is the largest newspaper in the state.
"Interesting - no mention even close to that of the AZ tragedy. I wonder why...."
In the Arizona tragedy Jared Loughner set out to kill a US Congress woman. Got within a few feet of her and put a bullet in her brain.
In the Missouri case there were no deaths. A schizophrenic man stabbed a dean of a college thinking he was the governor. Meanwhile the Governor was miles away at the airport.
The story might have garnered a little more attention if he actually stabbed the Governor of Missouri but the fact is he didn't get anywhere near him. He stabbed the dean of a community college thinking it was Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon. Nobody was killed and the Governor wasn't even in the neighborhood.

What will be similar to this case and Jared Loughner will be as follows:
1) community college staff knew of his mental problems and did nothing about them, maybe they kicked him out of school rather than growing some testicles and having the guy involuntarily committed for a psych eval
2) he was known to police in the last year or two, at least
3) he engendered fear and distrust, as in refer him to a mental institution, in anyone who knew him.
How can liberals and PC police continue to let people like this go?

Wow, it's been four months since this happened and I stumbled across it by accident in a blog. Nice to see the comprehensive coverage provided by the major news media on this one. Ya gonna tell me not one leftist writer was willing to jump at the chance to write the headline: "Nixon target of assassination?" Forty years ago it was their dream!

Casey Brezik must have a place in the DoJ reserved just for him, since there is nothing to show he's being charged with premeditated (or is that now merely a matter of unmedicated) attempted murder -- Ommbaba has the same problem, he has mistaken our identity as some clot of fools.
We'd better get our country back in the hands of the people who make their way by honest work with the sweat of their brows -- and smoke the rest (like 25 to life in the electric-chair).
If we are going to have Shariah Law these are good places to start.
Don't you just love our educational system? No wonder we're in such horrific shape as a country. I guess they quit teaching grammar years ago when the new teachers didn't know what it was, either.
Anyway, it must be tough going through life being so stupid that a person can't even identify the right person - I mean, not that the Governor would have any public photo images of him, or anything like that.
So now I suppose we will continue paying for this moron's life - protection, prison time, welfare - we'll even be paying for his right to reproduce - just what we need - another one! I knew Casey when we were in middle school. He is not the least bit evil. Casey has a very good heart. I think he just has a mental illness, a mental illness that needs treatment ASAP. Casey is worth saving people because at least he is not a sociopath. I can tell you he is definitely not a sociopath, Casey has empathy for others, which is the main reason I think he is worth saving from this terrible illness.
