Arena Football is coming back to Kansas City next year, but the Kansas City Brigade is grounded -- permanently. But three seasons do not make for an illustrious history. No, the new Kansas City Arena Football League franchise will receive a moniker from one (hopefully) creative fan.
The franchise is taking suggestions NOW (post 'em below, too). So go vote. You only have until September 27.
Three finalists will be chosen -- and you could win tickets to sit in
the founders club on opening night, tickets to the ego
star-filled NBA preseason game between LeBron James and Dwyane
Wade's Miami Heat and Kevin Durant's Oklahoma City Thunder
-- the name will be announced at that October 8 NBA game. Winner gets
two 2011 season tickets, dinner with the team's general manager coach
and a $200 QuikTrip gift card. Sweet!
If anything, it's a smart
move by the forgotten franchise. Now fans will have to buy new gear.
Cha-ching!

Frontier, as it is defined, is a border between two countries. Well, Kansas City is a border between two states; Kansas and Missouri. With both states backing Kansas City's AFL franchise and with the Kansas City area equally supported by both states, I feel that the Frontier would be a clever name.
