The Kansas City Chiefs' record is spotless after winning a 16-14 squeaker over the Cleveland Browns. At two-and-0, the Chiefs are already already halfway to matching last year's pathetic win total of four.
Credit Todd Haley for a gutsy call to go for it on fourth-and-inches at Cleveland's 36-yard line with two minutes left in the game. Running back Thomas Jones vaulted over the offensive line for the first down that clinched the game. But not everyone is celebrating. Jones is part of the problem ... for fantasy owners.
The Chiefs' philosophy this season is to go with a "running
back by committee" philosophy, splitting carries between Jones and Jamaal
Charles. This is proving to be a winning strategy. But it's driving fantasy owners crazy. How do you set a lineup
when you don't know which back Haley is going to favor from week to week?
Haley
knows this, and he doesn't feel your pain.
"It's a good problem to have," Haley told KCChiefs.com.
"Now, in the fantasy football world I could see it being a bad problem
to have. But we're worried about the Kansas City Chiefs and what we need
to do to win."
Give him credit. The strategy worked again Sunday. Jones ran
for 83 yards on 22 carries. Charles rumbled for just 49 yards on 11 carries. Bad news for The
Beer View Mirrors.
