Dan Le Batard, Miami Herald sports writer and longtime friend of former Kansas City Star columnist Jason Whitlock, was quoted in Sunday's New York Times saying, of Whitlock, "I try not to burn bridges, but he napalms them. He's fundamentally unafraid."
To which Whitlock responded, via Twitter: "LeBatard is my boy. Don't get it twisted. He has a
right to his opinion about me and how I conduct myself. He's an
excellent friend."
Whitlock went on to tweet, "Biggest omission in the story: no mention of The
Wire or stripclubs? Can u really know my soul w/o delving into these
topics?"
The author of the piece, Times media writer Joseph Plambeck, apparently thought so, though he did make sure to include mention of Whitlock's girth, writing, "His opinions are as outsize as his body."
Oh no he di-in't! Luckily, MSNBC's Chuck Todd has Whitlock's back.
