Ken Cannon, Kansas' most criminally charged gubernatorial candidate, has beat his first charge in court! The slippery would-be governor was found not guilty by a Salina judge of falsely impersonating a police officer during a telephone conversation ... with a real police officer.
The Reform Party candidate was accused of calling up Salina investigator Sean Furbeck on February 15 and identifying himself as "Officer Schoen" of the Manhattan Police Department. Furbeck then allegedly told Cannon who he was, and Cannon ended the call.
Forget Opening Day. The time to take off work is tomorrow -- the first public day of the 2010 American Royal Barbecue. More than 500 barbecue teams are arriving as you read this, to set up their smokers and gear in the hopes of walking away with an oversized $10,000 check and the title of Grand Champion.
But for those of us who aren't strapping on the aprons this weekend, there's still a lot of barbecue to enjoy. Fat City checked in with the Kansas City Barbecue Society's Ardie Davis -- he'll be the guy in the bowler hat swearing in the judges -- to guide you through the massive event that more than 70,000 people attended last year.

Once upon a time, deep in the bowels of cyberhell, lived a 60-year-old Danish man named Kai Lundstroem Pedersen. In his free time he allegedly enjoyed stalking, threatening, and getting off to prepubescent girls. He waited for unsuspecting prey in chat rooms.
Victim One has entered the room.
The little 11-year-old girl wasn't from cyberhell or Denmark, but from Buchanan County, Missouri. According to a news release from United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri Beth Phillips, here's what allegedly happened next. Pedersen told the young girl to undress in front of her webcam, which she did. Once she was naked, Pedersen started his own webcam, and the horrified damsel turned hers immediately once she saw his nasty self.

The P.E.I. mussels at Bluestem make you realize that not all bowls are created equal. Two pieces of toasty baguettes rest atop a mound of mussels. Beneath those mussels is a savory broth that is good enough to sip.
Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon's have a lesson for late-night TV viewers: the history of rap. When Timberlake was on Fallon's show to promote The Social Network, the two got to reminiscing about hip-hop tunes from the last thirty years. Of course, since Timberlake's there, the duo broke into a medley that included Sugarhill Gang's "Rapper's Delight," Beastie Boys' "Paul Revere," Dr. Dre's "Nuthin' But a 'G' Thang," Digital Underground's "The Humpty Dance," Eminem's "My Name Is," Kanye West's "Gold Digger," and Jay-Z's "Empire State of Mind."
The best part of this video? The way that Timberlake and Fallon nail Missy Elliott's backwards chorus on "Work It."
A nuclear weapons plant being built in south Kansas City could be seeing protests from more than the no nukes crowd. Alien watchers claim extraterrestrials could be visiting Kansas City more regularly once the plant is built.
Fox 4 is working to bring you the kooky story on the heels of seven former U.S. Air Force officers claiming they spotted UFOs hovering above nuclear missile silos and storage facilities in the '60s, '70s and '80s. Local UFO spotters are claiming more "credibility" but they sound far too trusting of the aliens.
